Definition of Terms

What is VO2 Max?
The highest volume of oxygen a person can consume to produce energy during exercise. It’s an excellent indicator of cardio respiratory fitness, and often used as a predictor of potential in endurance sports.

What is Anaerobic Threshold?
The point during high intensity activity when the body can no longer meet its demand for oxygen and anaerobic metabolism takes over; also called lactate threshold. It’s the point at which lactate (lactic acid) starts to accumulate in the blood stream faster than it can be metabolized into additional energy.
